 Car Parking Facilities

We have two designated disabled parking spaces in our car park located adjacent to the main entrance.  These are clearly marked and have a smooth and level tarmac surface.  Our disabled guests can also choose to disembark directly outside the main restaurant door before parking to make arrival as easy as possible.

 Main Entrance & Bar

Pensons main entrance door is a double opening doorway.  The single doorway measures 76cm across, extending fully to 155cm with both doors fully open. There is a small lip over the threshold into the building.

The entrance space is small cobblestones but these have level access throughout.  The bar areaa has two wooden sofas against the walls and a table in the centre of the space.

 Restaurant Dining Room

There is an open doorway leading into the restaurant measuring 98cm across. There are hardwood, level floors throughout the restaurant space.

Our tables and chairs are well spaced and have a good amount of room around them. The distance from the floor to the table top is 78cm.  The space from the table central floor pillar and the edge of the table is 32cm and distance from the square floor table base and the edge of the table is 16cm.  The chairs in the restaurant have arms, if it is not comfortable to sit at one of our tables, we can provide a large tray which may be suitable to be place across the arms of a wheelchair (depending on the chair design).

Lighting throughout is natural daylight with overhead lighting and candles on the tables are lit at night.

 Customer Toilets

Customer toilets, including a unisex accessible toilet, can be found at the back of the restaurant   The disabled toilet facility on the ground floor operating a fully compliant Doc-M system.  It is wide enough for the option of having a wheelchair alongside the loo. There is level access to these toilets and hardwood flooring.

Off the courtyard are our 2 Dinner, Bed & Breakfast rooms Lovage and Sorrel. They both have a level access of the courtyard, with a 1” lip on the threshold. Lovage has a single-entry door 100cm wide, whilst Sorrel has a double entry door, which with both sides open measures 150cm wide. In both rooms the here is a circular passageway which circulates the bed and encompasses an enclosed WC, open sink/washstand and an enclosed shower cubicle.
